We know it's stressful to leave your pet when you travel, especially if they're sick or recovering from surgery. We at Hermitage Animal Clinic want to help you relax.
We offer complete general boarding as well as medical boarding for pets with conditions that other boarding facilities may not be able to handle.
Boarding: A Typical Day
Before breakfast, the dogs go outside to our outdoor run for some fresh air. Their kennels are cleaned, disinfected, and restocked with fresh linens while they are outside.
We walk the dogs who stay with us on a regular basis, depending on their physical capacity and ability.
Your dog will be supervised throughout his or her stay with us, both on walks and when they are resting. Dinner is served in the evening, and then we go for one last walk before bedtime.
Your dog will also be bathed while staying with us, so they'll be fresh and clean when you come to pick them up!
Your cat will be fed according to your instructions and their needs, ensuring that their routine is the same as it is at home.
We offer daily one-on-one interaction with kitties (if they want it!), which includes play, snuggles, and pets. Throughout the day, litter boxes are checked, cleaned, and disinfected.
We also change the linens and clean your cat's room on a daily basis. Our cat boarding area is separate from the dog boarding area to ensure that your kitty feels relaxed and safe while staying with us.
Like dogs, your cat will also be bathed while staying with us, so they'll be fresh and clean when you come to pick them up!
Our expert veterinarians and nurses will closely monitor and administer medications to your pet. Any medications that are required will be given to your pet on the same schedule as they are used to at home.

We have a large facility and can accommodate several animals at once if you give us enough notice.
We may be able to board family members (canine/canine or feline/feline) together depending on the circumstances.
- How much does pet boarding cost?
Boarding fees vary according to the length of stay, the pet's size, and any special medical requirements. Having said that, our rates are reasonable and competitive, and we invite you to contact us for a quote.
- What time should I drop off and pick up my pet?
The office accepts pets only during regular business hours. Reservations are advised, especially during holidays and summer. During these times, we recommend calling 2-3 weeks in advance to ensure a spot.
- What should I pack for my pet?
Food: We provide Royal Canin Gastrointestinal Low Fat Diet for pets staying with us. However, please feel free to bring enough of your pet's regular food to last the duration of the stay.
Medication: If your pet takes any medication, bring it along for our staff to administer.
Toys: If your pet has a special toy or two, bring them along.
- What if my pet needs to take medication?
We will be glad to administer your pet's medications while they are with us.
- Can I get updates about my pet during their stay?
Yes, you are welcome to call us for updates during your pet's stay. We will contact you via the emergency contact information you provide if there is a problem.
- How should I prepare for my pet's stay?
Each animal is unique. We'll take the following steps to ensure that we can meet your pet's specific needs during their stay with us.
Step 1: Contact us to get started
Call us to book, and to discuss details about your pet and your boarding needs. A member of our team will be happy to coordinate your booking.
Please note that, due to the nature of our accommodations, we do not accept unaltered dogs. Pets must be up to date with all vaccinations and free of fleas and ticks to stay at our facility.
Step 2: Book a trial stay
We want to be certain that we are the best fit for your pet before committing to an extended stay. The trial stay is a full day of daycare during which we can assess your pet's temperament and ensure he or she fits in with the pack.
Step 3: Set your pet up for success
There are a few things you can do on the day you bring your pet to us to help reduce stress.
Spend extra time with your pet and make sure they get plenty of exercises to help them relax. When you arrive at our facility, remain calm, cheerful, and confident.
